Over-the-Counter Medications to take while Pregnant

Over-the-counter medications that can be taken during your pregnancy.

SYMTOM MEDICATION
Cough Robitussin DM
Nasal Congestion Sudafed, Chlor-Tremeton, Benadryl
Nausea Vitamin B6 or Nestrex
Headache Tylenol
Diarrhea Imodium AD
Fever Tylenol
Hemorrhoids Preparation H, Anusol
Sore Throat Throat Lozenges, Cepacol (Salt water rinses)
Constipation Colace (stool softener) (Fiber supplements)
Bloody Nose (from dryness) Ocean Mist Spray
Flu Symptoms Tylenol Cold, Tylenol PM
Heartburn Tums, Mylanta, Maalox, Rolaids

If your symptoms do not improve within three days, call our office. Unfortunately, antibiotics will not treat cold and flu symptoms that are caused by a virus. If a sore throat persists, accompanied with fever greater than 100.6, an antibiotic may be needed, and a throat culture may be necessary.
